If you have already arrived in Monterey and need some assistance or have questions, please feel free to contact me at nancy.tsai@miis.edu. If I cannot help, I will try to refer you to someone who might be able to. Also, though we have strongly suggested for you to bring a traditional tape recorder (that can both record and play), many students that have already arrived still do not have one, expressing disbelief at the backwardness of technology--many of them thought they could just work with an mp3 player. Sadly, at MIIS, we still use this method to practice interpretation, as the professors give out traditional cassette tapes for us to practice with. So if you still do not have one, either go online or go to Radioshack or Target and check out the prices. I had a hard time without one in my first semester.
